Dr. Mark Mucklow - Pastor |

Mark Mucklow became pastor of First Southern Baptist Church on October 10, 1993. Born and raised in a Christian home in Atlanta,
Georgia, Mark is the youngest of four children including a brother and two sisters. He became a Christian at the age of twelve and felt
God’s call to a ministerial vocation during his junior year of college at Georgia State University. He completed his education at Georgia
State (B.A., Business Administration, 1982) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div. 1987 — D.Min. 2000).
Brother Mark has served God as a Sunday school teacher, church recreation director, youth minister, and pastor of his now third church.
During the seven years he spent pastoring his last church in Lawton, Oklahoma, Mark was commissioned as a Chaplain in the U.S. Army Reserve (1988).
Brother Mark met his wife, Tricia, while in Lawton, Oklahoma. They have four children: Abigail, Caleb, Elizabeth, and Joel. Pastor Mark
enjoys reading, collecting almost anything, and playing most sports including (yes) softball.
Tricia is a CPA turned homemaker, is currently playing keyboard for our worship team. She also serves on the planning committee for the
statewide Woman-to-Woman conference.

| K.J. Kennell - Minister to Students |

K.J. Kennell was hired by the Personnel Committee and officially began his part-time job with us on November 25th. KJ will work 25 hours a week
while he continues to finish his college education. KJ says he has surrendered to God's call on his life to be a Youth Minister.
KJ is an Arizona native and a friend of the church that we have known for some years. He grew up at Royal Palms Baptist Church and has gone with our church
on numerous Kid's Camps and Youth Camps. He is familiar with a number of the families in our church. Many of our youth will remember him from those
early camp days when he served as a junior counselor.
KJ comes with high recommendations from his Student Minister and Senior Pastor. He has had several opportunities to lead the youth and serve in
leadership positions. He is finishing previous commitments he has made to his church before coming to serve our church.

| Darek Millsaps - Minister of Music |

Darek Millsaps joined our staff as part-time Minister of Music in January of 1993. Nearly a Phoenix native, he was born in Nashville,
Tennessee but his family—including an older brother—moved to the valley in 1971. He accepted Christ as a 9-year-old and sensed God’s
call to a Christian music vocation at the age of 19. Darek is a graduate of Grand Canyon University (Bachelor of Music with emphasis
in vocal performance, May, 1994).
Darek has been serving God in part-time Minister of Music positions since 1990. He was ordained at our church to the Gospel of Ministry
in 1996. He also currently works full time as a private investigator for Kolb, Stewart, and Associates.
Darek married his wife, Melissa, in December of 1993. Melissa also graduated from Grand Canyon University (B.S., Psychology, May, 1994).
She is currently on disability as a result of a back injury she sustained in a car accident in 1993.

| Steve French - Minister of Education |

Steve French joined our staff as Minister of Education/Administration on December 4, 2000; being called by God out of the secular
workplace and ordained into the gospel ministry by our church. Steve was born and raised in a Christian home in Dumas, Texas; the oldest
of three children. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at the age of six.
Steve graduated from Rice University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He had a successful twenty-three year
career in aerospace engineering with Lockheed Martin before accepting God’s call to full time Christian ministry. Steve earned his
Master of Divinity degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in May, 2007.
Steve has served God as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, chairman of deacons, nominating committee, and personnel committee chairman.
Steve and his wife, Vickie, volunteer with personal ministries in the community to parents of children with special needs.
Steve met his wife, Vickie while living in Chandler, Arizona. They have four children: Matthew, Bradley, Jeremy, and Sarah. Steve enjoys
working large projects around the house and in-depth Bible study. Vickie is the Director of Family Support for Raising Special Kids of Arizona.

| Cheri Dempsay - Minister to Children |

Cheri Dempsay joined the staff of the church in June of 1998. She accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 12 and was baptized here.
Cheri and her parents and younger brother were active members here for many years. Cheri and her husband Eric were married here in
May of 1985. They have three children, Emily, Brittany, and Rebecca.
After serving in a sister church as their Preschool Coordinator, she came back here as Preschool Coordinator and quickly was added the
responsibility of all children's ministries. She has had numerous opportunities to receive national training in children's ministries,
and has been providing training in this area to our children's leaders as well as other churches in the state.
Cheri is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education at Glendale Community College.

| Ron Bartholomew - Education Secretary |

Ron Bartholomew joined our staff as Education Secretary on March 22, 2011.
Ron retired in 2007 after spending 35 years in the computer industry. He is originally from the Detroit area but moved to Arizona in 1993.
He has been a member at FSBCG since 2008. Ron was saved when he was 18 years old. In the past, he has served God by teaching adult Bible studies,
captaining a children's bus route, and playing piano and organ for the church.
Ron and his wife, Paulette, are serving God at FSBCG as teachers in the 3rd-4th grade Sunday School class. They also work in extended care with
kindergarteners and pre-schoolers and in VBS.
Ron and Paulette were married in 1972 and they have no children. Paulette is originally from Tennessee, works as a food server at a local
restaurant, and also does elder sitting.
In his spare time, Ron enjoys astronomy, genealogy research, photography, reading, and playing keyboard.
